Standard Operating Procedures for Raids
General(applies to all classes)
-We are a raiding guild on Eastern Standard time. Sundays raids are from 4pm - 10pm EST. We raid Monday thru Thursday from 7pm to midnight, sometimes a little later.
-Send a tell to RL and DZ leader for invite. They will be named in the Guild MotD. /get in game or Alt G and look in the information tab of guild manager.
-If you have to leave the raid early, please let an officer know AT LEAST 15 min prior. If at any time during the raid you know you'll have to leave early, tell an officer asap. Failure to do this may result in loss of raid % attendance.
-Pay attention to the raid leader, incoming messages, and movement messages.
-Be ready, if you have to AFK, let the class leader, raid leader, and group know, put up AFK Tag.
-Audio Triggers we have a thread that deals with them, which events have them, what they are, how to create them, etc. IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES with them in any way let a class leader or officer know.
-There is no attendance requirement to raid with us, however there are attendance requirements to bid on and receive loot, see the loot rules section for details.
-If you are on a raid that only a certain amount of people may attend (SoD Hard mode raids for example, max 36), and the raid is full, full members have priority. Applicants may be asked to leave the raid so a full member may join.
-Ask your class leader, another member of your class, or an officer for appropriate channels to be in. Raid chat is for raid chat. Bullshit goes in Guild channel or Say channel.
-Do not ask for buffs in guild chat nor raid chat. Find a member of the offending class, and send them a tell. If you do not get a timely response, send another member a tell. If the member of the class says not right now, do not pester them. If there is a low number of the class online, it's perfectly fine for the buffer to wait for the raid to stop moving to buff.
-During Loot distribution members of the committee will often put be in tell hell and using tell window for taking bids PLEASE DO NOT send tells to them for buffs.
- Everyone will join and use the hotkeys that are assigned by the individual classes. These channels / hotkeys will be listed in each class section further down on these boards. THIS IS NOT AN OPTION. You don't want to use the hotkeys, you will not raid.
-Please keep hotkey messages as short and simple as possible
Pullers -Every zone is different, every zone is the same. Keep stream pulling, lined up mobs are efficiently dead mobs. -If the MA and/or his cleric dies; that is not a problem, we have several who can step up. Just keep them coming in, unless an officer/raid leader/class leader calls a halt.
Debuffers -Do not Ninja de-buff (cast while mob is incoming). If the mob doesn't have a tank in HotT do not cast on it. -De-buff messages go to raid say, the rest to a debuff channel or class channel.
Tanks - Have several duties the least of which is dpsing. MA, SA, TA (when needed), ramp tanking, off tanking, main tanking bosses, kiting. - Messages for tanking/assist/off-tanking, WILL BE standardized. Details are posted here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7693.
Healers -This includes Clerics, Druids, Shamans. Your here to heal, cure, buff, and debuff. Extremely rarely are you to dps. How you manage those tasks will be dealt with in a different thread. -Do NOT hold up the raid, because you need to buff someone, they can wait for buffs and get them as we continue or get another person to buff them. -Do NOT hold a raid, because 2 healers died, unless they are absolutely necessary (ie, boss fight) -Messages for heals, cures, rezzing WILL BE standardized. Details are posted here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7694
DPS -Number one /assist off to turn off auto attack on assist. Do not assist and attack, unless called for. Do not attack even if called for unless the mob you have on target health is going down. -Make sure your target matches the one called in /rsay. -Make an audio trigger "has been awakened by your char name" and select an appropriate sound that will get your attention. -MAs change during raids, be mindful to attack the mob the MA is telling you to attack. -We use SKs/Pallys as much as possible to MA because they have awesome aggro, take advantage of it, push your DPS, make them work for it. -When burn is called, give it all you have. No, this does not mean plow enrage if the mob spins, turn attack off. Dead DPS is no DPS.
Wizards/Nukers Be smart about aggro. There is a huge difference in getting summoned and dying when full burn is called, and nuking some incoming trash mob before a tank can establish aggro and getting yourself killed that way. Wizards especially need to pay attention with the introduction of the new mechanic of instant cast nukes - there is no time to duck out of nuking a mob that might be mezzed. Using these spells' uber aggro pulling ability to pull a mob off a healer or enchanter is one thing, using it to pull aggro off a tank or preventing a tank from getting aggro is not.
Pet Classes -If you do not have the PET HOLD AA, you do not summon a pet without raid leader permission. -Swarm pets are only to be used on cornered or rooted mobs unless the raid leader says otherwise. If you see another single target uncontrollable pet up from another class... wait for it to fade before casting yours unless the mob is cornered or rooted. One such pet may not hurt. Eight of them do.
Push Watch your push, everyone can help here, be aware of what you are doing, you can wipe a raid with bad push. You can move a tank OOR of healing, or get an add. Remember that push is always the direction you are facing, even melee. If you are a melee and are on the side of a mob but are facing mostly towards its front... it gets pushed mostly forward even though you are on the side, etc. Nukers, your push is the direction you are facing when the nuke lands. If you are facing backwards you push the mob backwards. Always think about how push is going when landing your nukes since collectively it adds up.
CHARMED PLAYERS Since some mobs tend to charm players use non damage aggro if trying to pull them off other players. It is important to note that when someone gets killed while charmed they can get booted to character select, sometimes getting dropped from the game completely. If you notice a charmed player die, make sure to inform the raid leader so they know to wait to do loot in case that person is going LD. Never intentionally harm or kill another charmed player.
Leash Leash is a special term used for when a mob cannot move to far from his initial spawn point. When a mob is leashed, he can run only so far before he teleports back to his spawn point and wipes his aggro. When Leash is called, it means run away so the mob will leash back to his spawn point. It is very important to avoid bad push that causes leash when it's not desired.
LOOT -It is the responsibility of every member to make sure they understand how our loot system works. If you have read the post above and still have questions ask a long time member or officer for clarification.
RAID OFFENSES The Raid Leader and officers are responsible for dismissing a raider from the raid because of conduct unbecoming of a member/recruit. -First offense of a specific type, warning -2nd offense of the same type, loss of dkp or to be determined by officers. -3rd offense ... ya really don't want to go there its nasty :p
Offenses: -AFK without notice, causing raid trouble/wipe -Being rude to fellow raid members -Not paying attention to orders -Not following any of the guidelines listed here -Making a scene because of something he/she doesn't like -Having someone on ignore during raids (fine during non raid times, but communication is critical during raids)
It is up to the Raid Leaders and officers discretion when determining the seriousness of the offense. Minor mistakes are fine, but major ones such as disrespecting a fellow raider can result in immediate dismissal. Those dismissed from the raid will be TL'ed at once. If officers aren't informed, don't come complaining later that so and so should have been booted. When informing an officer always remain calm and civil. Saying "So and so is causing xyz problems can you please talk to him/her" will get you a heck of a lot more attention than "OMG So and so never learns why are they in this raid they suck1!!1!!!1"
The Raid Leader is also responsible for keeping the raid force updated on what is happening, such as telling the raid force we have to be patient because the puller died and we are doing CR. If they are silent for a while and everything seem to be at a standstill, it's up to the officers to /tell them and ask what's going on.
2. Officers. This is whom you send tells to for normal problems that happen on raids. They are in charge of keeping track of how many people are at the raid, who's logging, and who's incoming. When people have attendance issues (need to camp, afk for and extended period, etc) send tells to the officers. The officers are the only people who should be sending tells to the raid leader. They are essentially the ones who are in charge of taking care of the people at the raid, while the Raid Leader is the one who is in charge of commanding the raid. The officers are the only other people able to give orders to the raid
RAID OVERFLOW/PIGGY SPACE When a new tier is breached often the attendance swells past raid capacity. The officers and raid leaders do their best to get people in that log on later, but please do not take offense if it takes awhile. -A wait list is generated of apps and full members outside the raid. In the past, we used to halt the raid to get the full members in. This resulted in raids taking an hour or more longer than they should have at times. As it stands now, the raid leader should inform those waiting of what is going on and when we plan to get them in. -FMs and APPs on wait list can get credit for raid attendance if not AFK. -Trial members and rarely bots that are critical to the survival of the raid will not be asked to drop if it would cripple the raid. -Bots who are in raid but sitting out will NOT get raid attendance credit. Bots that are asked to drop the raid to make room for a main must also leave the raid. -Please do not take it personally when wait lists happen. It is a natural occurrence when a guild starts to progress again and it is not meant to hurt anyone. If you are repeatedly stuck outside the raid for the whole raid night, PM an officer/raid leader or talk to them after raids. - If you do not want to sit there and you are stuck outside when it's full, do not log off as this will hurt your attendance. You do not need to sit at the computer 100% of the time, but you should be in a position to either see if a tell window pops on your computer screen and or be within range to hear a vtell if one is sent. IF you have to AFK put up AFK tag and check for tells as soon as possible. - Occasionally you may find yourself on the wait list and rather than sit idle in Guild Hall, Guild Lobby or where ever; it would be best if you sent a tell the the Raid Leader or an officer expressing your intention to go XP, work on required flagging tasks, or in general make good use of your time and then drop the raid for this purpose once you have the ok to do so. Make sure that what ever it is you are going to do that you can re join the raid at a moments notice.
