does eq even work with a quad core processor? I had to get an optimization program just to use it with my dual core processor without a bunch of bugs.

4-boxing with a quad core rig is $$$$

On the "My Characters" page click on "Manage Character" next to your warrior. On that page click on "Main" under the profiles heading. Start clicking on slots and keying in items and augs. Don't forget to click save when you're done. Right after "Manage Charact...

Never been a big fan of Macafee so I will also be looking into bit defender, now I need to find a replacement firewall (I just hope there is one out there I like as much as Sygate)! There is a version of Bit Defender that comes with a firewall. Dear lord, hardware firewall FTW. You can find a s...

It sounds like a harddisk issue. That seems strange though, usually disk I/O isn't that intense. It makes me wonder if maybe you have multiple anti-virus/anti-spyware programs installed? I know those sometimes like to check all files as they're accessed... As to bells and whistles, I'd just turn...

When I played Oblivion (I never did beat that game yet, I should some day) I started out by maxing my relationship with every NPC I encountered in town. The enemies steamrolled me because the game makes 0 distinction between combat levels and social/handiwork levels, so I was technically like leve...

By the time I finished the stupid random battles were far stronger than most bosses I ran into. That always killed me about Final Fantasy VIII actually. If you got to level 100, the monsters you were fighting to get there were as hard as the last boss (or harder *cough* Malboro *cough*), and onc...

It won't downgrade it, you'll just have two different versions of DirectX on the system. DX10 is built into Vista, but I think there was something I had to install DX9 for to make EQ work. Specifically, you need to download 9.0c.

Exquisite Spinneret Fluid, Exquisite Marrow, Porous Loam - all used in cultural, 50k+ minimum, more for the loams (smithing). Ores/Silks/Pelts, none of these are ever worth more than 200-300pp each (maximum, usually less) so there's no real worry about bothering with them (less common drops too, on...

I remember a game called Final Fantasy Tactics for the Super Nintendo...if it's a remake of that then I didn't really like it that much, otherwise I don't know anything about it. Also of course, even if it is a remake they may have fixed the things that annoyed me about it. *shrug* if you're getti...

Yeah, Fable was disappointingly short. I kinda dug the combat system though, and I did play through it a couple of times to try out different alignments. Still 16 hours is super short for an RPG; it would've been about right for a hack n' slash though. Thanks for saving me from bothering with FFV...

Are C: and D: two different physical drives or are they just partitions on one? If they are physically distinct drives it would be better to have the swap file on a different drive than EQ, if they're just two partitions it doesn't matter. Your router is not causing your problem. If it was the ro...

When I check the task manager, EQ is the only thing running Click on the "Processes" tab and (if it's there) check the box that says "Show processes from all users". I promise you it's not just EQ. By default the process view should show memory and CPU usage, you can sort on...

Good lord son, if a 512MB video card can't handle it... I don't think EQ can even really make use of multi-core processors... The only thing I could think of is if you have like particle effects jacked way up or far clip at 100% or something like that. With your specs running one account should h...
