I wouldn't turn off UAC. It protects your computer from so much for such a minor annoyance. I would get rid of the sidebar. Definitely cut down on those eye candy extras. They just take up memory. A static pagefile size isn't a bad thing either. The big thing is to get the number of running se...

How much RAM? What video card do you have? What other processes are you running? How many unnecessary service modules do you have turned on? Those are the things I would look at first.
